Nuestro Mundo Inc. (NMI) is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a $25,000 Good Neighbor Grant from Ascendium Education Group. NMI is one of 40 recipients of a $25,000 Good Neighbor Grant, as nominated and voted on by Ascendium employees. Nuestro Mundo Inc. has served the Madison community since 2004 and works with local partners to provide an in-school food pantry, free English classes for adults, grants and scholarships for area DLI programs and their graduates, and resources, programming, and events that support the Nuestro Mundo school community. This grant will be instrumental in bringing the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program to Nuestro Mundo Community School, making it the first public school in the area to offer this world renowned program that will support our bilingual learners as we work toward closing achievement and opportunity gaps.
Board president Dominic Ledesma shared that “Nuestro Mundo Inc. is very excited about the support the school is receiving from Ascendium Education Group.” and that, “funds from the Good Neighbor Grant will help strengthen the quality of Nuestro Mundo’s educational experience and will significantly advance the school’s pursuit of long-term goals and priorities.”
Good Neighbor Grants are part of Ascendium’s employee giving program, Ascendium Cares. Through this program, Ascendium employees commit to making a difference in the communities where they live and work by volunteering their time, talent, and support to organizations in various ways.
