Tony Jennaro (he/him/él) serves as the Principal of Nuestro Mundo Community School. He brings over 15 years of experience in bilingual and multilingual education to the role, having begun his career as an elementary English teacher in Nicaragua before serving seven years as a bilingual educator at La Follette High School and three years as the District Coordinator of Multilingual Education for the Sun Prairie Area School District. After studying as a young adult in Boston and living for several years in Central America, Tony returned to his Wisconsin roots and has called Madison’s Eastside home for more than a decade, where he lives with his husband. As a bilingual educator who learned Spanish as an additional language, he believes deeply in the power of bi/multilingualism. Tony is committed to Nuestro Mundo’s mission as a dual-language bilingual school committed to social justice, equity, and educating the whole child. As Principal, he is dedicated to fostering a welcoming school where all students, families, and staff feel celebrated for their unique identity, culture, and brilliance, while continuing to strengthen Nuestro Mundo as a leading, globally-minded dual-language immersion school.
